HELLO. I am cooking.

As b3ta is doing a cooking challenge, and I'm an ambitious idiot, I figured I'd make something big.
Since bakewell tarts are ace, I figured I'd go with those.

After glancing at the ingredients of the little 'uns (and the delicious, and probably ridiculously 'shopped pictures), I got an idea of how to make them, then scaled up.

FIRST UP: THE SPONGE
Just a quick victoria sponge with blended almonds in it, I forgot to put in the vanilla extract in.
I spent ages staring at the shelves in Budgeons looking for the damn stuff, then forgot. I might drink it, and film it if I get bored.

And the cooled result:

NEXT: THE PASTRY
I couldn't be bothered to make pastry, so I bought some and smashed it up, then morphed it in a bowl, because I'm cool like that.
I whacked some tin foil and tissues in the bowl to make the bottom flat.
Before it cooled:

HELL YES: JAM TIME
Got some seedless raspberry jam, as well as some plum, mashed/stirred it with a fork in a bowl, then spread it across the bottom of the now cooled pastry:

THE GREATEST FRIENDHIP EVER. PASTRY, JAM AND CAKE:

JELLY AND ICING ARE ADDED, AND THE FOODS ARE COMPLETE

And the cross section:

For the record, it's delicious. Obvz.
